Summer is almost here and everything start looking pink\u2026 thanks to\u00a0Rubus<\/a>, too! Our June Bizzarra is a\u00a0raspberries Spiced Ale\u00a0<\/strong>born from a romance between\u00a0Duchessa<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 our elegant and refreshing spelt beer\u00a0 –\u00a0 and\u00a0Rubus idaeus<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0fruits, that is to say\u00a0 the flavorsome\u00a0red berries<\/strong>\u00a0with their sweet&sour taste.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Adding the whole fruits to the beer \u2013 about 100 grams per liter \u2013 let a\u00a0\u00a0spontaneous fermentation<\/strong>\u00a0to start, giving to our\u00a0Rubus<\/strong>\u00a0a unique character where the sour aspect stands out, but it\u2019s well balanced by the soft fruit\u2019s smell. They also give the beer the unsual and charming\u00a0pinkish color.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What about the raspberries? This year we used the super-tatsy ones picked by\u00a0Monica Maggio,\u00a0<\/strong>an extraordinary breeder and farmer who expressly came to Borgorose from her farm\u00a0Il Feudo<\/strong>\u00a0in Zocca (near Modena).<\/p>\n

Just a little more waiting and\u00a0Rubus<\/strong>\u00a0will be ready\u2026 try it as a fantastic\u00a0aperitiv on a summer evening<\/strong>, just as it could be a sparkling ros\u00e9 wine, to add life a little bit of pink!<\/p>\n
