One of the few good things about September? Think about Maledetta, this month’s Bizzarra: a beer you will hardly resist, starting with its name! It was born to pay tribute to the Modigliani cigar – created in 2010 and dedicated to the Tuscan “maudit” artist – with which it shares the round, intense and aromatic taste. Maledettais a Belgian Ale which is meant as a trait d’unionbetween the Belgian brewing tradition (you can see it in the round body and in the flowery, slightly spiced flavor) and the British one, as in the intense citrus aroma given by the selected hops.
The result is utterly incredible: amber color, a rich nose with flowery and citrus notes, a fantastic taste starting with honey and toffee which lead to spices and citrus, always keeping the right balance thanks to the fair hopping.
How could you pair it? You could point in the fruit direction: try it with an unusual citrus potato mash, with a fruit and spice cake or even with the always good “bread, butter and jam”!
But even if you choose to drink it all alone… Maledetta is damn good!
