As you probably know – or maybe not! – every two years Turin hosts the Salone Internazionale del Gusto, the biggest food fair organized by Slow Food, that from this year on – from 25 to 29 October – will be a single event with Terra Madre, the network of food communities. The common theme will be “Foods that change the world.”A revolutionary project like Slow Food’s one demands a new way of thinking: Food for thought, thought for food.
Could we say that craft beer can change the world? Well, it changed our life, for sure, and the life of many beerlovers and homebrewers that appreciate our beers and those made by the many craft breweries all around the world. And it’s no coincidence that many events and taste workshops at this year Salone del Gusto are dedicated to craft beer!
You will find there more than 40 micro-breweries: among them 20 will attend the event for the first times, and several come from abroad. Of course, we will be there, too!
Join us at our stall – Pavillion 3, 3A 076 – we will be happy to show you (and let you taste) our beers, some exclusive new brews included, and to tell you everything about our projects and our collaborations.
We will launch our brand new (yet very “old”!) Etrusca, that is finally reade to be tasted! Our“archeobeer” made with Sam Calagione and Teo Musso will be presented on saturday during the workshop The Archeology of Beer (sold out) featuring Leo, Sam and Teo together with prof. Patrick McGovern, Scientific Director of the Biomolecular Archaeology Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, and Duccio Cavalieri, a computational biologist at the Edmund Mach Foundation of the Istituto Agrario di San Michele all’Adige, our scientific consultants for the project.
Leonardo Di Vincenzo will also take part in The Making of Beer meeting with the maker – on sunday, 28 October, places still available – where he will tell about why he seeks out bizarre ingredients, and about the use of multiple strains of yeast and terracotta amphorae.
So, we wait for you at the Salone del Gusto: we hope you’ll get passionate about craft beer as much as we are!
